"We were up long before the day-o! To welcome in the summer, to welcome in the May-o! For summer is a-coming in and winters gone away-o!"

In other words, May Day celebrations! (Although this was at the beginning of May and now its near the end!)
It was very good, although I could only do the last two days out of the three.
Again, I was in the dairy and this time we had to make a may tree out of butter, we were very proud of it.
There was a big celebration, a play at 2 o'clock followed by a procession of the May Queen and princesses, music and flying flags to the barn sward.
On the barn sward, the May tree was erected and the mistress of the house presented the May Queen with a crown (of what I know not) and then they started dancing around the May tree until the green man came and stole the Queen!! Once the green man had apologised, everyone started dancing again!!! It was very fun indeed!
I cant wait for the event!
